Hamas, Gaza & Israel

Normal relations appear to have been resumed between Israel & Hamas & as usual, everyone is calling for the Israelis to show restraint.
I wonder if those same voices would be giving the same message if it was THEIR cities being hit by missiles.
How would we English feel if France allowed terrorists to launch missiles at Dover, or Spain react if we encouraged Gibraltarians to mortar Algeciras?
In both cases, I'd expect a VERY short diplomatic exchange, followed by the use of force if attacks continued.
So why should Israel have to treat the situation any differently?

The myth that Palestine was "stolen by the Jews" continues to be given as an excuse for the conflict but no such State ever existed: The whole area was conquered & ruled by various empires for a couple of thousand years, with the original Kingdom of Israel being subsumed into those empires along with the rest.
The nearest thing to a historical Palestine is the nation of Philistines who lived in what is now the Gaza Strip.
Unlike their Semitic brethren who fell under the influence of Islam, the Jews worked WITH each other to rebuild what was lost & recreated their nation, rather than stagnate for 1,400 years.
It's interesting to note that Israel is about the ONLY State in the region without huge oil wealth that has prospered & remained stable; perhaps because their Religion doesn't try to keep them back in mediaeval times.....

Muslim lawyer brands Christmas 'evil'

"The lawyer, who recently praised the Mumbai terror attacks, urged all Muslims to reject traditional Christmas celebrations, claiming that they are forbidden by Allah.

The 41-year-old shocked Christians and even those of his own faith by branding yuletide festivities as "the pathway to hellfire".

Choudary, who is chairman of the Society of Muslim Lawyers, ruled out all celebrations, including having a Christmas tree, decorating the house or eating turkey."

Well guess what MrChoudary:

I think your perverted version of Islam is something spawned by Satan.
I haven't recently seen anyone who puts up a Christmas tree cutting peoples' heads off, machine gunning hotel guests, or attacking innocent civilians with suicide bombs because they're of a different faith.

If you don't like our Christian, secular society, then FUCK OFF.

Gun Control: Someone Sees The Truth.....

......behind the lies.

"The firearms massacres that have periodically caused shock and horror around the world have been dwarfed by the Mumbai shootings, in which a handful of gunmen left some 500 people killed or wounded.

For anybody who still believed in it, the Mumbai shootings exposed the myth of “gun control”. India had some of the strictest firearms laws in the world, going back to the Indian Arms Act of 1878, by which Britain had sought to prevent a recurrence of the Indian Mutiny.

The guns used in last week’s Bombay massacre were all “prohibited weapons” under Indian law, just as they are in Britain. In this country we have seen the irrelevance of such bans (handgun crime, for instance, doubled here within five years of the prohibition of legal pistol ownership), but the largely drug-related nature of most extreme violence here has left most of us with a sheltered awareness of the threat. We have not yet faced a determined and broad-based attack"

Read all of it & believe it, because it is the unmitigated truth.

At every point where restrictions on the lawful possession of firearms has been increased, there has been a corresponding increase in their use by criminals - leading to yet MORE restrictions being imposed on law abiding citizens.

Whatever happened to the Bill of Rights & the basic tenets of Law laid down by Blackstone?

More Stun Gun Fun

It's no surprise to find that our beloved Government is intending to allow unreliable & dangerous equipment to be used in "pacifying" unruly members of the Public:

"The CBC and Radio Canada have run a bunch of Taser tests recently, and the results aren't likely to reassure anyone. US-based testing lab National Technical Systems pulled 41 X26 units out of 7 random police stations across the nation, and fired each at least six times. What happened? Well, four of them threw off a current "significantly" higher than a stun gun is supposed to, including some that were 50 percent higher than normal, while three didn't fire at all."

Not only that but the UN, an an organisation that usually SUPPORTS government repression of citizens has described their use as torture:

"In a month that has seen several people killed after being tasered, a UN committee of ten experts has ruled that tasers constitute torture and are capable of killing. This flies in the face of the manufacturer's statement, which is that any resulting deaths after a taser is used are "attributable to other factors.""

Seems like some of those involved in the investigation of Taser use might be somewhat biased too:

"It turns out that a couple of key players leading the study already had an agenda in mind before they got started: Robert Stratbucker, one of the key advisors, is actually a paid consultant for Taser. He was in turn hired by University of Wisconsin professor John Webster, who wrote before the study even got underway, "Tasers do not kill.""

Remember folks; the Govenment is your friend - not.
